The Alliance for Historic Hillsborough

The Alliance for Historic Hillsborough is a non-profit organization that operates the Alexander Dickson House and Orange County Visitors Center.  Its mission is to preserve, enhance and increase awareness of the historical and cultural heritage of Hillsborough for residents and visitors.  The Alliance coordinates the efforts and activities of its six member organizations to promote Hillsborough and its wonderful variety of events, preserve Hillsborough's assets, raise funds for the benefit of its historic sites, organizations and community projects, and create educational and cultural programs for residents and visitors, adults and children.

Historic Hillsborough Commission is the organization that operates the Burwell School Historic SIte.

Historical Foundation of Hillsborough and Orange County is the organization that operates the Orange County Historical Museum.

Hillsborough/Orange County Chamber of Commerce is the organization is a strong advocate our local businesses and sponsors popular annual events such as the Hog Day Festival and the Candlelight Tour. 

Hillsborough Historic District Commission works with residents to maintain the appearance and integrity of the properties in the Historic District.

The Hillsborough Arts Council has nurtured the development of a growing art community in Hillsborough and sponsors such events as Last Fridays and Parlor Concerts. 

The Preservation Fund of Hillsborough is an organization which identifies and supports the preservation of historic properties that lend their unique character to Hillsborough.

Through the years the six organizations that make up the Alliance for Historic Hillsborough have worked to enhance a quality of life in Hillsborough that is defined by our vibrant neighborhoods, spectacular setting, lively downtown and notable historic structures.  With your support we have the opportunity to proects, re-use and maintain the irreplaceable historic legacy of past generations.
