The Orange Community Players open their eighth summer season with the rollicking, toe-tapping musical, "Dames at Sea." This delightful show is a parody of many of the 1930s and 1940s musicals. Come out for a mid-summer's eve concert at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 210 St. Mary's Road, at 4pm. The program features Allan Parrent, tenor, and Kim Kingsley, soprano. It will include solos and duets from both the classical and semi-classical repertoire, from Schubert and Schumann to Rodgers and Hammerstein. They will be accompanied by Kate Lewis. This concert is presented by St. Matthew's Faith and the Arts Series. Admission is free, and all are invited.
Arrive at the Alexander Dickson House/Orange County Visitors Center (150 E. King Street) by 10:30am to purchase your ticket for a guided walking tour of the historic district. Tickets are $5 for participants ages 12 and up. Tours last approximately 90 minutes.

On Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 3:30 PM, the Orange County Main Library will host a special program presented by the Piedmont Wildlife Center for teens ages 11-19. This event is part of the Teen Summer Reading Program, Summer Stars, and the program will feature nocturnal birds and snakes.
