The Downtown Merchants of Historic Hillsborough [DTMHH] are pleased to announce their new Spring Event – Downtown Hillsborough’s Fresh Roots Festival and the accompanying FRESH ROOTS FEAST the following afternoon, April 21 & 22.

Elon G. (Jerry) Eidenier is the author of Sonnets to Eurydice and Draw Flame Catch Fire and the recipient of a Vermont Studio Center Fellowship.  His work has appeared in The Virginia Quarterly Review, and other journals and in anthologies such as 27 Views of Hillsborough, In a Fine Frenzy, and Literary Trails of the North Carolina Piedmont.

Hillsborough resident Max Preston will be doing a reading of his new children's book, It's Fun to Visit the City but I Wouldn't Want to Live There, Saturday at 5pm at Purple Crow Books (109 West King Street).  www.purplecrowbooks.com

The Burwell School Historic Site and the Hillsborough Literary Association Present an evening of readings and discussion with authors Marjorie Hudson (Accidental Birds of the Carolinas) and Valerie Nieman (Blood Clay) on Wednesday, November 16 at 7pm.  The event will take place at the Burwell School (319 N. Churton Street).

The Burwell School Historic Site and the Hillsborough Literary Association present a poetry reading with Jeffery Beam.  The event will take place at the Burwell School (319 N. (Hillsborough, NC)---As the summer comes to a close and the school year begins, Family Fun Days are coming to an end. September 10^th is the last day in our series of events for 2011.  Family Fun Days will resume in June of 2012.

The White City Book Launch Party at the Eno River Farmers Market Pavilion (East Margaret Lane).
