The Festival of the Society Tree

Based on a fundraising event by the St. Matthew’s Ladies’ Sewing Society in 1867 using the novel idea of a Christmas tree, the fourth annual “FeST” takes place the weekend of the Candlelight Tour in Hillsborough. Featured for sale are fine handcrafts and creative arts, homemade foods and baked goods, beautifully hand crafted wreaths and ornaments, and other unique gifts. The Ordinary Café will offer heritage soups, breads and warm drinks on Saturday and Sunday. During the Candlelight Tour on Sunday, docent tours will share the history of the church. All proceeds from the past three years have benefited local outreach endeavors, including OCIM, Habitat for Humanity, the Fairview Neighborhood Park, the Alamance/ Orange County Prison Ministries among others. All proceeds of the FeST will continue to benefit Orange County outreach programs.
