with a free Independence Day celebration hosted by

the Alliance for Historic Hillsborough!

 

  

Parade

Line-up will take place at the Whitted Building parking lot.

Reading of the Declaration of Independence

10am at the Old Courthouse

A community reading of the Declaration of Independence will be led by Mayor Tom Stevens at the Old County Courthouse at the corner of E. King and S. Churton streets.

Old Town Cemetery Tour

Free tour of the Old Town Cemetery (1757) at 11AM.  Located at the corner of W. Tryon and N. Churton streets.

Picnic in the Park

Live Music!  Featuring:

Apple Pie Baking Contest- Register

Food trucks:

Picnic in the Park take-out special at Radius Pizzeria

Pony rides

Free bottles of water

Lawn games in River Park

Patriotic Pet Shows His Stripes

 Local puppy Tony took some time out from his busy day of napping and herding chickens to don his patriotic colors.

He wanted to share his thoughts about tomorrows July 4th festivities!

By land or by sea all ‘ye pets.  Grab your favorite patriotic outfit and come join the Parade.  It’s like a group walk.  No experience necessary.  Food trucks and a picnic!   Lots of treat possibilities.  Plus a prize from Paws at the Corner for the Most Patriotic!

Picnic in the Park "To Go" Special at Radius

Radius Pizzeria, just one block from River Park and the Farmers Market Pavilion, will offer a Picnic in the Park "To Go" special of chicken or vegetarian wrap with chilled pasta salad and fruit salad.  Please call 919-245-0601 by July 3rd if you wish to pick up before 11:15AM on July 4th.  Radius opens at 11AM.  The full Radius menu is also available for take out all day.

 

Most Patriotic and Most Hillsborough Contests

Two new and exciting announcements!  Jesse Torres, Adjutant for Chapter 637 of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, has volunteered to serve as judge for the parade's "Most Patriotic" contest.  The winner of the contest will receive a gift certificate to Saratoga Grill.

Also, life-long Hillsborough resident Kaye Crawford will be our "Most Hillsborough" judge.  The prize for this contest is a gift certificate to Matthew's Chocolates.  

Join us for the parade on West Tryon Street at 9AM, July 4th!
